At any rate, is there a problem with the machine doing > both networks at once? > well, you can also configure multiple IPs for one NIC (see one of the previous post). a dialup connection will have it's IP, too. and: you can even set up dummy-devices with an own IP. there would be absolutely no problem with your config.
