Hey everyone. I'm using unstable, and I was wondering what would be the best way to start up eth0 without a network address assigned to it? I need this, so that pppoe will work correctly. Currently, I have the following in /etc/networks/interfaces:
iface eth0 inet static address 0.0.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 But on boot up, it complains like so SIOCSIFNETMASK: Cannot assign requested address There is no problem, since this does what I want, but I was wondering whether there is a cleaner way to do this. Thanks Marshal
