After doing these things, I noticed something else: the output of ifconfig for eth1: eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:A0:CC:5B:DD:F8 inet addr:192.168.0.1 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:495 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:990 collisions:0 txqueuelen:100 Interrupt:10 Base address:0xf800 This is after trying to ping my roommate's computer many times. Shouldn't the number of TX packets (above) be greater than 0? Only errors are accounted for above (495, which is about how many ping requests I did on my roomate's computer).
