Grab a recent copy of lilo (in the 21-x series). This includes support for LBA32 extensions which allow LBA32 compliant computers to boot above 1024 cylinders. Then, all you need to do is run lilo -L or you can edit the linear entry in your /etc/lilo.conf to lba32
