You certainly are confused :) The 3c509 series of cards (aka EtherLink III) are, and always have been, ISA units. Look at the contents of /proc/pci again; you'll see that you have a 3c905b ethernet card. It's a 10/100 Mbit PCI card, and a very nice one that that, if expensive. You need the 3c59x driver for this card to work.
