i've never had to recompile, not with slink nor potato. i did use modconf to make sure that ip_masq_ftp was installed, thinking that maybe that included the hooks needed to do general ip masquerading. that, and apt-get install ipmasq to make life easy. > This is fairly high-level magic, and is not included in the Debian > installation kernel, (AFAIK), so you will need to recompile your kernel > from source.
