minix fs is smaller, so it is probably is a better choice than ext2 for floppies ? (although you can recover deleted (text-)data from ext2 rather easily: see the Ext2-Undeletion-HOWTO; I'm not sure whether that's possible with minix) you can also use (v)fat in combination with tar, but that will give you error messages like "cannot chmod".. -- Felix Natter
