hi again, i figured out that my isdn card support is not available in the potato's kernel (2.2.17). I have ELSA Microlink ISDN PCI internal isdn card and I do not see this card entry in modconf hisax module insertion step.
What surprising me is that redhat 7.0 which uses 2.2.16-22 kernel is able to working with my card! Ofcourse, they have a GUI based tool called 'isdn-config' which lists my card in the hardware entry. Well, I guess redhat backported the latest isdn4linux drivers on 2.2.16 So, my question now is 'do I backport the latest isdn4linux drivers onto my 2.2.17 source and recompile? FYI: cat /proc/pci shows the same irq and io both in debian and in redhat, which made me to guess that redhat backported the latest drivers from teh CVS may be. thanks! -gnana PS: i get replies in German, I moved in recently to Germany and so please keep replies in English. Vielan Dank.
