I had unsuccessfully configured X, set it aside for a day. Rebooted the machine, only to have X start automatically. Problem is, X isn't working beyond letting me enter username/password.
C-ALT-D only gets me back to the initial GUI login! IS there a way to escape out of this during the boot process?
