This could be because /etc/X11/X doesn't exist. It seems that by default X4 lokks for the server in this spot. Try symlinking /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 to /etc/X11/X if /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 isn't there then you need to install the actual X server (this didn't happen automatically for me when I upgrade) so apt-get install xserver-xfree86 cheers -------------------------------------------------------- Today people in droves hurry up past Heumoz to Villars on the road to the ski hills, so they can rush down them as fast as possible, so they can hurry up again in order to rush down again.
