1. initrd + aha1542 I am failing to convert a kernel with aha1542 builtin into an initrd one because of the aha1542 module. Eventually I got initrd to prompt for a shell. Within that shell I was trying to insmod the aha1542 module manually and get:
# insmod aha1542=0x134 Using /lib/modules/2.4.20-5.custom586.3/kernel/arch/cpuid.o/aha1542=0x134 insmod: /lib/modules/2.4.20-5.custom586.3/kernel/arch/cpuid.o/aha1542=0x134: Not a directory How come this path is looked on? Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug in the module? The kernel is compiled with make-kpkg and the source was obtained from the kerne-source-2.4.20-5 package. 2. The format of /etc/mkinitrd/modules According to the example for wd8003 in /etc/mkinitrd/modules and to the mkinitrd man page, You can also specify modules to load by putting them in confdir/modules, whose format is identical to that of /etc/modules, which is described in modules(5). Is this correct? Isn't the format of confdir/modules is like the one of the kernel bootparam, which is different from /etc/modules? -- Shaul Karl, [EMAIL PROTECTED] e t -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
