Hi, You could also try set in the append option in lilo: ignore=hdd (or hdc) this will make the system ignore if there are hdc or hdd and ide-scsi will work fine. Also verify that in /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh You don't have any hdparm command pointing to the concerned drive.
