Hi Lawrence, it will be a bit of work but you'll learn al lot about linux. First you've to start your box with the rescue disk aund mount your partitionons _without_ clearing them and _without_ installing anything. Start a shell from the installation script (second before last poit) Make a symbolic link from /dev/psaux to /dev/mouse (that was your fault). Restart your box. If you want, you can configure runlevel 2 without startin xdm with update-rc.d. Look at the corresponding man page. greetings Albrecht
