I had 2.2r2 cd iso images on one of my servers I thought i would try using rsync to convert them to 2.2r3 images (i had heard this could be done)
when i try to sync to the 2.2r3 images up on the mirrors i use the following command: rsync --verbose --progress --stats --block-size=8192 debian.uchicago.edu::debian-cd/stable/official/2.2_rev3/i386/binary-i386-3.iso which in almost no time at all gives me the output: Number of files: 1 Number of files transferred: 0 Total file size: 604977152 bytes Total transferred file size: 0 bytes Literal data: 0 bytes Matched data: 0 bytes File list size: 36 Total bytes written: 123 Total bytes read: 72 wrote 123 bytes read 72 bytes 14.44 bytes/sec total size is 604977152 speedup is 3102446.93 but it does this even if i repeat the command leading me to think the images aren't getting synced? either that or rsync is even faster than i thought it was.. can anyone advise? or should i just generate fresh images? thanks, John
