hello, this is annoying, i had thought my kernel finally supported all the hardware in my notebook only to find out that the cd drive didn't work...so i re-compiled the kernel, basically messing up everything that had been working before. well, now i think i am back to where i've been before...i am using kernel 2.4.4 and i think i have built in all the necessary things for pcmcia cdrom. my pcmcia works (so pcmcia should be ok)...i'm wondering, maybe i am just not aware of some kind of procedure to activate a pcmcia cd drive...so what i would need is simply a short explanation as to what has to be done in order to get a cd-drive to work...can anybody help me out?
