I've got an NIS/NFS server set up and running kernel 2.4.4. NFSv3 support was not included, but nfsd was and it's running knfsd.
When I try to access it via NFS, some things seem to work, while others hang (on the client) and generate the following sets of log messages: --- client's log --- /sbin/rpc.statd[144]: Attempt to register callback to service 16 /sbin/rpc.statd[144]: STAT_FAIL to 127.0.0.1 for SM_MON of 192.168.23.4 kernel: lockd: cannot monitor 192.168.23.4 --- server's log --- kernel: nsm_mon_unmon: rpc failed, status=-5 kernel: lockd: cannot monitor 192.168.23.82 kernel: statd: server localhost not responding, timed out The server has exported /home with 192.168.23.0/255.255.255.0(rw,root_squash) and the client has it mounted hard, intr, nosuid. How do I go about troubleshooting this? -- That's not gibberish... It's Linux. - Byers, The Lone Gunmen Geek Code 3.12: GCS d? s+: a C++ UL++++$ P++>+++ L+++>++++ E- W--(++) N+ o+ !K w--- O M- V?
