Hi all I am running Debian 2.2 (potato) i386 and have a problem with (i think) apt. When i try to install c++-compiler, i get the attached messages. i've tried installing libc6 2.1 instead of 2.2, but after installing it (with dpkg) apt-get complains and asks to install all the packages on the machine, including base-files! i've thought that a possible solution would be to rebuild the apt dependancy database in some way. is this possible? or are dependancies stored in the packages themselves? thanks. seth
