Hmmm.  I would get the system installed and at the point it wants to try
and make the hardisk bootable just boot off the rescue disk and then use
the rescue options to set your root partition to the appropriate scsi
drive.  That should allow you to complete the installation and possibly
get a different lilo or syslinux installed to make the boot partition
bootable.  I'd also make sure that lilo is trying to use linear (only
since lba32 has never worked on my old hardware).
