First: use a meaningful subject line, you'll get better/faster responses. Second: in general, you can access legacy MS Windows filesystems under GNU/Linux, this is well covered in various FAQs. If your Windows partition is /dev/hda1, you could mount it to /mnt/win98 with a line similar to the following in /etc/fstab: /dev/hda1 /mnt/win98 vfat auto,user,nosuid,nodev,gid=104,umask=002 2 2 You should see the 'mount' manpage for more information on the options above. In general you can open most legacy MS Office format files under GNU/Linux. How useful this is really depends on what Microsoft has done lately to bork things up. You should have pretty full functionality to MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint files. I believe there are conversion tools to get you from Outlook to a real (e.g.: GNU/Linux) mail client. Some applications will run in GNU/Linux under WINE. If you require a full legacy MS Windows installation, this is also possible with tools such as Win4Lin and VMWare. Google is your friend, most of these questions are very frequently covered, and may be readily researched on the Web. -- Karsten M.
