Both worked for me. Some newer version of boot disk was having some problem (I heard) but by now it should have been fixed. Word of caution. 1) Try to be conservative. Before upgrading all by dist-upgrade # apt-get install libc6 libdb2 perl # apt-get install apt This may save you some trouble. Testing is still "work in progress" Also moving from 2.2 to 2.4 kernel using debian pre-compiled kernel needs some attention since new one are highly modular and you may need to add few entries for the module in /etc/modules If you have choice, do not dist-upgrade after many programs are installed.
