I'm trying to make an ISO image of a Windows 98 Second Edition CD. I've
done this before in Windows, but not in Linux.

I wasn't sure how to make an ISO, so I tried:

cat /dev/cdrom > /tmp/cd.iso

Unfortunately, that seems to always give me:

cat: /dev/cdrom: Input/output error

Does this mean the CD is bad? Is there another way to make an ISO (not
even sure if the above 'cat' does anything meaningful!)?

Sorry for the newbie question.

Thanks.
