The old version of xchat-gnome used the old convention of package for
python. The new one (the one in woody or sid) follows current policy.
What version of xchat-common do you have? Make sure you are using the
same version of both.
Thanks. I installed xchat-common. That allowed me to install python2.1
and now gnucash appears to be installing just fine.
I have used your mixed testing/unstable setup to get this far.
