I've had no answer until now, so here it is again :-)

Hello everybody,

I wonder why it takes so long to print anything under Linux. I
have a HP 959C, that works under W2K and Linux. Under W2K it is
very fast, even with high quality (I am not speaking about photo
rendering but full color printing). Under Linux it takes hours to
print the same things. Is this only due to the ghostscript layer,
or is there anything I can do about it?

My configuration:

Woody
HP 959C connected on /dev/usb/lp0 (USB)
gs 6.51-5
hpijs 1.0 from http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/
HP 959C
kernel 2.4.14 w/ USB support

Thanks for any advice...

Cheers,
