yes of course - if you don't setup dns it will be difficult to get a name resolution :o) but if you don't define/write a resolv.conf file, it doesn't exist... and it depends on your configuration/provider... that's what I wanted to say, sorry if my English is not so good ;o) (but you were right, I do not use dial-up ;o) ) regards Isabelle Hurbain
