Just > need a decent VCD player for Linux. Have your tried the other video output plug-ins? SyncFB is only for Matrox cards. Xv is for cards which have Xv support. Not a very informative statement, but "xvinfo" should tell you if you have it (anything longer than five lines). XShm should be available on any XFree86 4.1-based system $ xine --help | grep video-driver -A1 -V, --video-driver <drv> Select video driver by id. Available drivers: Xv SyncFB XShm Then try xine -VXShm (etc.)
