Unfortunately it didn't work. I've tried several combinations, as well as symlinks between the two, as well as to /etc/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config I have also tried XF86Config files generated from xf86cfg and xf86config. The first just give me a black screen and x crashes. The second allow me to see the gdm login panel, but when I try to login to gnome or kde just give me a large black square which is the mouse curser then crash back to the gdm menu (with the voodoo card). With the radeon card, I can't even get the gdm panel or use xf86cfg > > > I'm still trying to get X-Free86 running on a woody box with either a > > Voodoo 2000 agp or > > a Radion7000pci.
