Having used both, ximian gnome is slightly more polished and the woody
gnome. Ximian gnome was made for potato. Thus it will not install
cleanly on a woody system. IMHO using ximian gnome on a potato system
was definately worth it because potato gnome was just so bad, but on a
woody system, the standard gnome packages are great and you really would
no notice the difference. I would just install the debian gnome
packages if you are using woody. I hope I answered your question.
