It's perfectly ok for companies such as VMware to distribute closed-source
kernel modules, but they must support them themselves.  The kernel
developers will not help debug kernels that contain proprietary modules
since they don't have access to the module source.

It's a kernel matter, not a Debian matter, and it's an informational
message, not a problem.  The kernel developers added this license-detecting
feature in hopes of wasting less of their time.
