Perhaps we can help each other out... I have an ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder and am trying to do direct rendering (DRI Project) and can't seem to figure out how to get the card to actually do the rendering (it defaults to software rendering), even though I have the DRI module loaded on X startup and the permissions set to 0666.
But, have you tried downloading the latest modules/drivers from the Gatos project (gatos.sf.net)? From what I know, these are the best place to get drivers for not-so-new ATI products (8500 and on). I'm running Sid and alas openGL apps fail to function , they load but no graphics are displayed , for example the GLXGears window just remains black even tho it is reporting the FPS. After looking around others seem to have blamed it on the newer versions/builds of xlibmesa , my question is does anyone know a way to fix it or when packages will be updated to cure the problem ?
