As root, using the loopback device:

# mount 'name-of-image.iso' /mnt/cdrom -o loop

will do the job. Loopback mounts are really cool imho. :)

I'm not so sure about the removable-ness of this, but I think it would
be possible to associate a 'mount' action with an iso type filename.

With my limited experience on OS/X, I find sometimes the mac appoach
confusing.
