The behavior was entirely similar to what I observed when I tried to
install Woody with cd#1 of the 7cd set, namely the computer starts the
boot-up sequence, it finds the CD reader and reads stuff from it, but
the welcome screen from Debian never happens. Instead the computer
just sits there with no welcome and no error message. As I say, this
the behavior for woody CD1 and for sarge net-install rc2.  I suppose I
should try the final release, which I will do as soon as I can
download it.
