apt-get source + pentium-builder = i386?

Hello,

I installed the pentium-builder package and I made the export 
DEBIAN_BUILDARCH=i686. However, after a apt-get build-dep and apt-get 
source -b, the result was a i386 package. Why the result wasn't a i686 
package? I tested with IPTraf and Postgresql-8.0.
