Been using 3.0 for about a week. Love it. Hard to install, but hey. :)
I have 2 'easy' issues:

1. Soundcard doesn't work under KDE as user, but it does under root. (I know, don't use X as root, t'was an accident).
Error Dialog: Sound server informational message: Error while initializing the sound driver: device /dev/dsp can't be opened (Permission denied) The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

Make sure that your normal user is a member of the "audio" group. This change can be done in umm, I dunno a gazillion ways, one way that I have used is to use "kuser". It is a graphical user management tool, you may have to 'apt-get install kuser' if its not installed and its pretty easy to use. So I hope that solves your normal user sound problem.
