Yep, I would suggest that too, but it sounded like the OP had to get links and then retrieve a specific page from that, and that adds to the complexity. If it gets really complex, I might suggest writing an Perl LWP script. The LWP packages are rather imposing, but once you look at it, the examples are excellent, so even with software that powerful, you can get some speed quickly. Hmmm, right now search.cpan.org had problems, but that's the place to go to read the documentation in a nicely formatted variant.
