Because this is a list that is used specifically for Debian questions,
and not for questions in general. For example, posting a question
about how to best cook shrimp would be totally inappropriate, whereas
posting a question about how to configure X is.
I completely agree. OT is ok once in a while. But if it becomes the
norm, then there is a problem. So far my feeling is that d-u sees very
less OT posts and very few flame wars - which IMHO is very good.
