At the command line if you type [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Films$ file myfilm.avi you get: myfilm.avi: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 720 x 576, 25.00 fps, video: XviD, audio: MPEG-1 Layer 3 (stereo, 48000 Hz) Is this what you want?
