-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have exactly the same problem, alsa changes are not being retained between reboots. I remember seeing something like "Alsa saving status" when shutting down my long-established system, but the new install has no such message.
On Monday 09 October 2006 08:26, Clive Menzies <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> was heard to say: > You could try putting the sound card module in /etc/modules which > will ensure it's loaded at boot which should sort problem 1. When running "# alsaconf", it asks "Do you want to modify /etc/modprobe.d/sound (and /etc/modprobe.conf if present)?" But in my recent install of Sid the /etc/modprobe.d/sound, the modprobe.d directory, and the /etc/modeprobe.conf files do not exist. It seems that the alsaconf program has not kept up with other changes. I believe a bug-report is in order. Done! Bug# 391921 BTW, during this latest cycle, as a test, I "touch /etc/modprobe.conf" to see if that would be updated by alsaconf. It was not, but _this_ time the file /etc/modprobe.d/sound was created with the correct settings in it.
