Hello, I'd like to use discover / discover-modprobe on an initrd that will be booting a bunch of things via pxe that have various kinds of custom hardware installed, most of it pretty new, and all of it pretty new.
Is it better to just insmod/modprobe iterating through every custom module in linuxrc knowing the ones that don't apply will just fail? Or, is it better to just add support for the hardware in discover? Has anyone come across something showing the process of adding hw and modules to discover-modprobe? Seems like 6 of one / half dozen of the other to me. But I'd still really like to know how to do it :) Can't find much on Google and the man pages aren't really very helpful in that regard - they seem to indicate simply that it can be done and the switch to do it. Another version on the manual I turned up contained a note from the author that the process was a little unorthodox and you're better off sending him the info to include in a future release. I've got the discover-data package installed.. but it isn't going to see some of the newer off brand (or new brand) raids, fc controllers, etc. Thanks in advance, Tim -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
