Try updating the pciutils on your system.

Another point: alsa shows me two cards:
hda-intel                        Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/
legacy                           Probe legacy ISA (non-PnP) chips


alsaconf asks you what cards to probe for. These days we don't have
ISA chips instead PCIs are used. You should select only hda-intel. I
am still wondering what kind of hardware do you have ;-)
