I'm running with a Realtek card on my desktop. lspci shows it as 00:0f.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10) ckecking /proc/modules shows that it is using two modules 8139cp & 8139too Greping the /boot/config* for 8139 shows (2.6.15 & 2.6.18) CONFIG_8139CP=y CONFIG_8139TOO=y CONFIG_8139TOO_PIO=y CONFIG_8139TOO_TUNE_TWISTER=y CONFIG_8139TOO_8129=y Hope this helps.
