Sorry, "stripped-down" is just wrong wording here. It has more drivers that the actuall "2.2.x-vanilla" kernel for Potato. The only things not available in bf2.4 are some exotic devices and gamer hardware, and many people used it as before the ptrace exploit came to daylight.
