here is the steps i did and they worked
installed java
execute
#apt-get install sun-java5-jdk sun-java5-plugin sun-java5-fonts java-
package

once its installed
then change which one to use
execute of     \/ \/ \/  gives you this
# update-alternatives --config java

I cant remember the site i found the info on... but it worked
