While the above link may be helpful for newbies, that page will not help the OP do what he's asking. Perhaps this link is better: http://newbiedoc.berlios.de/wiki/Questions#Sharing_a_directory However, if a user creates a directory inside that directory, AFAIK, that directory will not be writable by all, only by the user who created it. I ran into that sort of problem. My solution was to use a umask=0 in /etc/fstab for the whole partition (that is shared). I imagine that this is not very secure, but on my little network it works fine.
