You have to run "apt-get upgrade" to actually get the package(s) with the corrected timezone data. ("update" only updates the list of available packages but it does not upgrade anything on your system.) After you do this, run zdump -v /etc/localtime | grep 2007 and check the dates. Report back if you still do not see March 11 and November 4. Also check if the date command shows "EDT" instead of "EST" after you upgrade. (It should also show the correct time, of course.) P.S. You can remove the outdated "ftp.nerim.net" line from your /etc/apt/sources.list to get rid of that error message. Marillat's packages are now at www.debian-multimedia.org.
