Oh, sorry. This should have gone to debian-user-german, not to debian-user.
For whatever reason I klicked on the wrong button. Please excuse the
additional noise.

So I'll try to switch over to English.

I've a bunch of different Debian (sarge/etch... ) and Kubuntu systems,
both physical and virtual (virtualbox) hosts. I'd like to run the system tray
kicker applet on each of them, but on some hosts the system tray applet does
not show up in the list of available applets in the kicker menu. I wonder why
I can't run this applet some hosts, because

* it is installed in /usr/lib/kde3/systemtray_panelapplet.so
(as part of the kicker deb), systemtray_panelapplet.la seems
to be ok, also.

* according to "ldd" all library dependencies of systemtray_panelapplet.so
can be resolved.

Obviously there is an applet whitelist or some other kind of filter which
I am not aware of, that prevents that the system tray shows up in the list
of available applets. Any hint?

Thanks, Thomas
