Sorry about this newbie stuff question.
But, last full Debian way of configuration i was in was in the lilo days and
Grub was still new.

It has been a while since..

OK, here goes..

I have edited /boot/grub/menu.lst

and tried to remove this line..

## ## End Default Options ##
>
> title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.18-4-686
> root (hd0,1)
> kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-4-686 root=/dev/hda2 ro
> initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.18-4-686
> savedefault

> #root (hd0,1)
> #kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-4-686 root=/dev/hda2 ro single
> #initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.18-4-686
> #savedefault

> ### END DEBIAN AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST

And after typing update-grub, that whole line goes back to being
UN-commented. How can i edit that permanently? I have tried adding this..

updatedefaultentry=false

before

## ## End Default Options ##

But, it is still the same.

Please help!
