But if have a dual boot system with the other system expecting BIOS set to localtime, Debian should be able to handle this: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/system-administrator/ch-sysadmin-time.html#s-multiboot-with It may cause problems when rebooting after sommer/winter time changes though, as Debian has no way of knowing whether the other system already ajusted the local clock to the new sommer/winter time.
