As one who has never been able to get my head around regex, I can attest to that. I sometimes end up writing a python script rather than a regex one-liner just because I hate regex (or it hates me). As for the add, why not phone them up and ask? Personally, I prototype in Python. If it runs fast enough then its done. If it doesn't, they I turn it into Ada (which is surprisingly like python and nothing like C) and compile it. If its a pure engineering problem, I'll use Fortran77. However, being able to do simple things and being able to read more complex sh scrips is almost required in UNIX. Doug. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
