Most thinkpads do have a built-in HSF (controller-less) V92 modem as an optional item you can ask while customizing it. I am not sure of the X300 or X61, but the T61 really should have it. Network is acting funny here, or I'd go to lenovo.com and custon-build a X61, T61 and X300 to check. I do know the T60 and T43 did have modems. My T43 has one, works with the Linuxant drivers (yes, binary only. I rarely use it, but the driver works well enough for emergencies, and the modem does V92 and Class 2 Fax properly). > PS All the searching I have done lead me to believe that they don't > exist. But how do you prove that with Google? They do exist. Google, as you said, isn't perfect. V92 modems are the kind of stuff that makes more sense to exist in a USB or ExpressCard form factor nowadays, though. -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them.
