try to run tcpdump(tcpdump -s 0 -n -i any -w foo.pcap port 389) on the node in 
order to see if the failure is a result of
a misconfiguration on bind user or connectivity problem or something else.
Use wireshark to analyze the saved file of the tcpdump command
